Bert Sugar could have been anything, really, as long as it allowed him to tell stories. As long as it allowed him to crack wise, especially about himself. As long as it allowed him to make people smile, if not laugh out loud.
Sugar, who lived in Chappaqua with his beloved wife Suzy for nearly 50 years, passed away at the age of 74 Sunday of cardiac arrest. He was also battling lung cancer.
