(AP) Paul Heyworth, a former editor and bureau chief at the Tribune-Review of Greensburg known for his love of the outdoors, died Sunday while playing tennis. He was 67.
Heyworth worked for the newspaper for 37 years, including a five-year stint as head of the paper’s bureau in Fayette and Westmoreland counties. He retired in 1998. He was also a reporter, features editor and editorial page editor. Heyworth was also known for his love of the outdoors, which was fostered during his childhood in Weymouth, Massachusetts.
Aside from his work with the newspaper, which he joined in 1961, Heyworth served as a board member of the Westmoreland Conservation District for more than 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, three brothers and two daughters. A private ceremony was planned.
