Jim Hopson Named Columbus Dispatch Interim Publisher

By: News Release | The Columbus Dispatch

The new owner of The Columbus Dispatch has chosen a Granville resident and veteran publishing executive Jim Hopson to serve as interim publisher.

Hopson will be publisher while the newspaper’s parent company, GateHouse Media, conducts a national search for a long-term president and publisher, the company said.

Hopson has had two stints in central Ohio. The first was from 1995 to 2000, when he was CEO of Thomson Newspapers’ central Ohio operations, which were sold to Gannett in 2000.
