Douglas Feiden, a well-known former reporter and editor at the New York Post and the New York Daily News, has joined hyperlocal newspaper publisher Straus Media-Manhattan as Senior Investigative Reporter. Most recently Feiden served as reporter Long Island’s Sag Harbor Express, where he reported on and investigated multiple controversies over development, preservation, planning, and zoning.
Feiden began his journey in publishing working as a copy boy at The New York Post, and eventually rose to City Hall Bureau Chief and later City Editor. For most of his career—spanning back over three-and-a-half decades—he was a NYC-based tabloid reporter and editor, working for Crain’s New York Business, The Post, and on the Enterprise and Investigative Teams at The New York Daily News, where he also served as City Hall Bureau Chief.
“We’re thrilled to have Doug join our team and look forward to his dogged reporting, terrific writing and insightful eye,” said Jeanne Straus, publisher of Straus Media-Manhattan. Alexis Gelber, Editor in Chief of Straus Media’s eight neighborhood newspapers, commented: “Doug’s writing and reporting talents are legendary. He will be a great addition.”
