America's Newspapers, the largest national newspaper association serving communities throughout North America, and Editor and Publisher Magazine (E&P), the 140-year-old authoritative journal of the industry, have formed an agreement to join forces in order to provide the most comprehensive news coverage available about the global news publishing industry.
In this collective capacity, E&P and America's Newspapers will combine resources to access hundreds of sources each day available through a free Noon EDT newsletter—‘News Publishing Today.’ Plus, the same email content will be updated 24/7 and published on the E&P website in four content categories:
● Industry News (EditorandPublisher.com/News) will curate timely and relevant
stories, the latest research and updates on the news publishing industry.
● NewsPeople (EditorandPublisher.com/NewsPeople) will feature the advancements,
awards and movements of news publishing leaders.
●Obituaries (EditorandPublisher.com/Obituaries) will salute those who have served
our industry and left us.
● News Industry Calendar/Events (EditorandPublisher.com/Calendar) will list all
upcoming news publishing industry events and conferences in various formats.
"Through this working alliance, we can use our combined resources to guarantee a single
webpage and a daily highlights email that will ensure all news publishing executives that they have received all the industry information they need to be in-the-loop on industry news as it happens," said Mike Blinder, publisher of Editor and Publisher Magazine.
“It was a natural fit for us,” said Dean Ridings, CEO of America’s Newspapers. “Our
partnership with E&P ensures that our members and E&P’s readers will have greater
exposure to America’s Newspapers’ efforts in advocacy, programming and marketing. While we will continue to provide our members with exclusive benefits and content, we knew that by working with the team at E&P, we could provide the top publishing executives the best information platform possible in the most efficient manner.”
All the new content areas, as well as the new co-branded newsletter, are being developed using technology from Creative Circle Media Solutions, which also hosts the websites of both America’s Newspapers and Editor and Publisher.
"We’re happy to be able to support both organizations and the critical role both play in the health of the news publishing industry,” said Bill Ostendorf, president and founder of Creative Circle. “This joint venture is a big step forward. Things like a comprehensive industry calendar will be a great asset for news publishers and these are the right organizations to provide it."

About E&P (https://www.editorandpublisher.com)
Editor & Publisher Magazine's (E&P) roots began in 1884 with The Journalist, first published to serve the U.S. newspaper industry. In 1907, a new publication, Editor & Publisher, was born and quickly merged with The Journalist. E&P later acquired Newspaperdom, a trade journal for the newspaper industry that had begun publishing in 1892. In 1927, it joined with another trade paper, The Fourth Estate.
In September of 2019, E&P was purchased by the Curated Experiences Group that appointed industry veteran Mike Blinder as its new publisher. Mike Blinder changed the magazine to tabloid size with glossy stock and a considerable increase in editorial material.
E&P has grown from its legacy magazine to a robust online presence with the annual DataBook (now also online) to new digital products. These products include daily news emails, video podcasts, industry webinars, a media industry job board, an industry calendar and a mobile app.
