Austin American-Statesman Journalists Vote to Unionize

Newsroom employees of the Austin American-Statesman voted Wednesday to unionize and collectively bargain with the newspaper’s owner over a range of workplace-related issues including pay and benefits.

Employees voted 36-12 to affiliate with the NewsGuild, a news media workers union based in Washington D.C.
