#BringAustinHome banner to be displayed on the front of The Washington Post headquarters

On Tuesday, Aug. 9 at 10:45 a.m. EDT, The Washington Post will unveil a #BringAustinHome banner on the exterior of The Post’s Washington, D.C., headquarters and host a photo opportunity. Lawmakers, press, press freedom organizations and others are invited to attend and cover the unveiling.

Background:

Washington Post contributor and freelance journalist Austin Tice was abducted while reporting in Syria in 2012. Aug. 14 marks 10 years since his disappearance, and a decade of unsuccessful results from the U.S. government to secure his release. The Post’s #BringAustinHome multimedia campaign calls for immediate government action and aims to keep Austin’s case top-of-mind until he’s freed. More about the campaign, announced in July, here.
