Brolley Genster joins the Home team at The New York Times

Posted

We’re happy to share that Brolley Genster will be joining the Home team in Seoul as a new staff editor.

Brolley comes to us from the features desk of The Korea Herald. He previously worked on the business desk, and before that, he was the editor of the culture desk at Korea JoongAng Daily, where he started as a copy editor in 2015.

In Brolley’s own words: “I came to Seoul a few months after graduating from university in 2012 to study Korean full time and have been here ever since. I’m a big fan of the city’s public transportation system, as well as its many parks, mountains, alleys and cafes.”

Brolley is a member of the Asian American Journalists Association, has served on the boards of the Asia chapter and Seoul subchapter, and is a graduate of AAJA’s Executive Leadership Program.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in public communication from American University.

We’re thrilled for Brolley to be joining the Home Team. He’ll be based in Seoul, where he’ll be working closely with Sarah Anderson.

Please join us in congratulating Brolley and welcoming him to The Times!
