BuzzFeed is looking to disrupt the status quo, again. This time it is going after the social-media landscape.
The digital-media company said its designing a social platform that will contrast with algorithm-centric ones that currently exist. It adds that the platform will focus on interactive storytelling, new content formats and artificial-intelligence tools.
“The future of social media should be designed for creativity and connection, not addiction,” said Chief Executive Jonah Peretti. “It’s time to bring back the internet we love.”
