Capital Region Independent Media Expands Role of Warren Dews

Capital Region Independent Media (CRIM) is proud to name Warren Dews, Jr. as vice president of the company. He also will take on the role of publisher of The Ravena News-Herald and The Greenville Pioneer. Dews also has been granted an ownership stake in Local Eats and Essentials, an online ordering portal co-owned by CRIM and City Media of Canada.

CRIM president Mark Vinciguerra in making the announcement said, “I’ve known Warren for close to 30 years and he is one of the best in the business. He understands the importance of community journalism and has the experience in helping our company grow and thrive. No matter the market, Warren knows how to make sure the voice of the people is heard. It is our goal as a media company to bring back the core of what a local media company should be. Our pages and content need to be a mirror and voice of our market.”

Dews graduated with a bachelor of science degree in business management from Virginia State University in 1993. Prior to college, he graduated in 1988 from the acclaimed high school in New York City now known as Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, which was featured in the television show “Fame.”

“Warren has an easygoing, affable nature that people gravitate to,” Vinciguerra added. “Beyond his natural ability to build relationships, Warren understands the importance of ensuring the highest quality service in all of his collaborations.”

Dews is a minister and is involved in several key community initiatives. He is married to his wife Roberta, and the couple has three children, Warren III, West and Kennedy.
