Casey Parks joins The Washington Post as a gender and family issues reporter

Announcement from Local Editor Mike Semel, Deputy Local Editor Monica Norton and Social Issues Editor Annys Shin:

"We’re thrilled to announce that Casey Parks is joining The Post as our gender and family issues reporter.

"Parks is a freelance journalist writing mostly for The New Yorker and The New York Times Magazine. She is finishing her book  “Diary of a Misfit,” which is part memoir, part investigative reporting and, she says, all about finding connections in those things that divide us. It comes out next year."

She starts Sept. 7.
