WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 21, 2024) – The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) has named Daryl Mintz as its new Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, effective November 18.
As CPB’s Chief Financial Officer, Mintz will be responsible for CPB’s financial procedures as well as the direction of all administrative, human resources, and treasury functions within the organization.
“Daryl is an accomplished financial officer with decades of experience who will bring value to CPB helping us steward the federal appropriation for public media,” said Patricia Harrison, CPB president and CEO.
Mintz has spent most of his career at Sesame Workshop, starting as assistant controller in 1999 and becoming chief financial officer in 2010. As CFO, he led the company’s financial operations as well as its technology and facilities functions.
“I am looking forward to joining the dynamic team at CPB and returning to a role that will allow me to contribute to the ongoing success of public media,” said Mintz.
After he left Sesame Workshop in 2022, Mintz was chief financial and administrative officer of the Robin Hood Foundation, one of New York City’s largest local philanthropic entities dedicated to combating poverty, before becoming chief financial and strategy officer for The Second City, the comedy club, comedy theater, and improv school.
He began his career in public accounting at Wiss & Company in Livingston, NJ, after graduating from Rutgers University with a degree in accounting.
Mintz succeeds William Tayman, CPB’s chief financial officer since 2006, who retired in April after a long and distinguished career.
