Court grants injunction to striking Post-Gazette employees; company plans an appeal

A three-judge panel of the Third Circuit Court of Appeals on Monday ordered the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette to rescind changes to employee health insurance benefits that went into effect nearly five years ago, a decision that comes in response to a lawsuit seeking to enforce a federal labor board ruling against the newspaper.

Union officials were buoyed by Monday’s ruling, but a company spokeswoman indicated the newspaper plans to appeal the health care part of the decision.
