Cribb, Greene & Cope changes name to Cribb, Cope & Potts

Cribb, Greene & Cope, the nation’s oldest, continuously running newspaper and publication brokerage, has been renamed to Cribb, Cope & Potts to reflect the firm’s most recent ownership/partner changes.

The firm’s name change coincides with the addition over the last several years of Jeffrey Potts and last year’s announced retirement of Gary Greene, who served as a director for 19 years alongside John Cribb. Cribb recently announced his retirement as well. His son, John Thomas Cribb, remains a director of the firm, as does Randy Cope.

“We thank John Cribb and Gary Greene for building a company that is well-respected in the industry and look forward to carrying on their “do the very best job for your client, every time” approach to operating the business, said Cope.

Potts, a native of Sacramento, California, works out of the firm’s West Coast office in Folsom, California. He brings more than two decades of media and non-media merger-and-acquisition/brokerage experience. He joined the firm in 2016.

Collectively, Cribb, Cope and Potts have nearly four decades of experience as newspaper brokers and a similar number of years prior to that as newspaper publishers, operators or journalists. The firm has offices in California, Montana and Arkansas.
