Dao Nguyen joins The New York Times as new mission lead for Digital Advertising

We are thrilled to announce that Dao Nguyen will be joining The Times as senior vice president and head of the digital advertising mission.

Over the last two years we have made tremendous strides scaling our world-class, premium ad experiences across our product portfolio. We’ve innovated our first party data program and ad targeting capabilities through offerings like BrandMatch. We’ve launched marquee product integrations with marketers like Meta and Instacart, and much more. Advertising represents a vital revenue stream to the organization; and as we realize our essential subscriptions strategy, we have ambitions to make all of our products even more essential in the lives of our audiences and marketers.

In her role, Dao will be responsible for driving our next chapter of ambitious ad product-driven growth. She will report to me and Joy, and will represent our Digital Advertising Mission in the development and execution of our broader New York Times product roadmap.

Dao joins The Times most recently as the publisher of BuzzFeed, a reinvention of the traditional title in which she led the company’s product, tech and data teams. During her 11-year stint at BuzzFeed, she also spent time running the growth, editorial, video, food, social, branded content, ad product and distribution, and news teams. She previously served as chief executive officer of LeMonde.fr in Paris, and also worked at Dow Jones Ventures, Concrete Media, and Andersen Consulting (now Accenture).

Please join us in welcoming Dao to The Times!
