Today, Dow Jones announced plans to expand its existing offices and open new locations that will strengthen its operations throughout the Middle East. Opening in 2025 and building on its global footprint, these offices will host staff from across Dow Jones’s world-renowned brands, and will fortify the company’s news-gathering operations, sales functions and information services focused on risk and energy, among other initiatives.
“The Gulf’s position as an emerging hub of innovation in tech and AI requires that we strengthen our presence in the region,” said Almar Latour, CEO of Dow Jones and publisher of The Wall Street Journal. “We must continuously reflect the evolving news and information needs of the global business community and that’s why we’re excited to deepen our footprint in the Middle East to deliver reliable journalism, data and analysis across the region and around the world.”
The first stop in Dow Jones’s expansion plan is the State of Qatar. The company intends to register and operate within Media City Qatar, a leading hub for global media and technology companies that fosters innovation and collaboration in Qatar’s vibrant media landscape. This news follows a recent announcement of a multi-year agreement that will bring Dow Jones’s marquee technology conference WSJ Tech Live to the State of Qatar starting in December 2025.
The Qatar office will also serve as an important facet to Dow Jones’s partnership with the Government Communications Office of the State of Qatar, which seeks to both increase the company’s presence throughout the region, and aligns with the country’s vision to become a global hub for advanced technology and innovation.
“The new Dow Jones office in Qatar, alongside WSJ Tech Live Qatar, will mark a significant milestone in advancing Qatar’s technological growth and supportive business environment,” said Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani, director of the Government Communications Office of the State of Qatar. “This new presence solidifies Qatar’s position as a prime destination for global media and technology companies.”
