Announcement from National Editor Matea Gold, Deputy National Editor Philip Rucker, Senior Politics Editor Dan Eggen, Deputy Politics Editor for Campaigns Sean Sullivan and Deputy Politics Editor Brianna Tucker:
We are delighted to announce that Dylan Wells is joining The Post as a campaign reporter who will cover this year’s midterms and the 2024 presidential election, with a mission of engaging the next generation of Post readers and subscribers.
Dylan comes to us from USA Today, where she has covered Congress and campaigns since January. In that role, she reported on the confirmation of Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court, Congress’s Jan. 6 hearings, and the political fallout of the high court’s decision on abortion. She previously was a national political reporter at National Journal, where she focused on voting rights, and worked as a news associate and Iowa Caucus Fellow at CNN, covering the lead-up to the 2020 presidential election.
At USA Today, she reported on the personal abortion stories of members of Congress, outlined Republican efforts to woo Asian American and Pacific Islander voters and Asian lawmakers’ concerns about anti-Asian hate, and tracked the upcoming Democratic National Committee decision on the early state calendar.
Dylan has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Chicago, where she was involved in the Institute of Politics and served as editor in chief of the campus political journal. She is from Portland, Oregon, and enjoys traveling, photography, and exploring D.C. with her dog Wasabi.
Please join us in welcoming Dylan when she arrives on Oct. 10.
