An announcement from National Editor Mike Semel, Senior Editor for National News and Strategy Rachel Van Dongen, Politics Editor Nick Baumann, White House Editor Amy Gardner and Deputy White House Editor Annah Aschbrenner:

We’re excited to announce that Emily Davies is starting today as a White House reporter.

In this role, Emily will bring her news-breaking skills to the Trump beat and tell human stories about the administration’s impact, looking to hold power to account while capturing how the breakneck pace of change is reshaping American life.

Emily builds on a track record of success covering President Trump’s impact on the capital city, a role in which she repeatedly helped The Post scoop the administration’s efforts to overhaul the federal government.

Emily is known for her ability to find the human element in policy changes and tell those stories with nuance and clarity. She honed those skills over three years on the D.C. crime beat, where she helped lead coverage of the city's most deadly year in a quarter century, including an intimate account of a 14-year-old boy fighting to avoid his own funeral. She also broke news about a closely held list of the people D.C. had designated as most at risk of committing or falling victim to violence. Her reporting compelled the city government to make changes to its flagship anti-crime initiative.

Please join us in congratulating Emily on this new assignment, which she starts today.
