Hearst to require vaccines for all newspaper employees

Hearst Newspapers, the owner of The Chronicle, told employees Tuesday that COVID-19 vaccinations will soon be required for all employees.

The email announcement by President of Hearst Newspapers Jeff Johnson said the policy would be effective Nov. 12, to give employees who are not yet fully vaccinated time to get the shots. Johnson also said that, effective immediately, all new employees in the newspaper division would need to provide vaccination proof before their hiring.
