Henry Fuhrmann, a retired Los Angeles Times assistant managing editor, died Sept. 14 at age 65.
He is remembered by all who knew him as one of those rare individuals whose kindness and caring shone as brightly as his brilliant intellect. His nurturing was particularly evident in his role as mentor to young people trying to develop their careers in journalism and other areas of communications.
