Announcement from Managing Editor, Content Strategy and Platforms Alexandra Manzano and Executive Editor, Platforms and Operations, Joe Schatz:

We’re happy to share that we’re promoting Isabel Dobrin, one of our best digital journalists, to help ensure that our strategy on the POLITICO homepage remains strong and innovative.

Isabel has distinguished herself at POLITICO with her sharp news judgment, unmatched headline writing skills, and innovative approach to coverage of marquee news events including strategic planning for the 2020 Elections, Joe Biden’s Inauguration, 2022 primary nights and Jan. 6 and its ongoing fallout.

And now, she’ll be our first Director of Homepage and News Strategy, reporting to Ali Manzano. In this new role, Isabel will create and maintain new and ambitious approaches for the homepage, headlines, news alerts, live coverage and POLITICO’s soon-to-launch new app — in close concert with Karey Van Hall, editors across the newsroom and our Content Strategy and Innovation team.

She will oversee our team of homepage editors on the CSI team, and work with product thinkers in the newsroom to ensure our storytelling tools on the homepage and for pivotal news moments are best in class.

Critically, Isabel will be a key voice in how we approach the 2022 midterms, ensuring readers have a robust homepage experience that gives them up-to-the minute results and clear access points for our best journalism and analysis.

Isabel joined POLITICO in 2018 after stints at The Salt Lake Tribune and NPR. She brought her trademark passion to every aspect of her work, her wit and some pretty good meeting and OOO one-liners. In her free time, she can be found politely asking the DJ to play Bad Bunny.

Please join us in congratulating Isabel.
