Jerry Lubenow, Longtime SF Journalist Who ‘Knew All the Right People,’ Dies at 80


In the 1970s and ’80s, when national newsmagazines were at the top of the media heap, Jerry Lubenow held tremendous sway as the San Francisco bureau chief for Newsweek.

Just to have him arrive at the scene of a story gave it immediate importance beyond the local.
