John Widdison, a former executive managing editor of the Telegram & Gazette in Worcester, Massachusetts, died Tuesday, May 23, at the age of 84. Mr. Widdison oversaw the merger of the morning Worcester Telegram and the Evening Gazette, later serving as director of public affairs for the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health, where he worked until retiring in 2001.
