The Washington Post announces that Kristen Friesen has been named head of growth for Zeus Prime, The Post’s groundbreaking premium ad-buying network. In this role, Friesen will be responsible for identifying and developing sales and marketing channels to drive revenue for the Zeus Prime network of publishers.

“Zeus Prime is uniquely positioned to help premium regional publishers across the U.S. maximize their revenue opportunity while also giving brands a way to target at scale the rich and deeply engaged audiences that turn to these publications for news and information about their communities every day,” said Julia Belanger, GM of Zeus. “Kristen brings incredible experience working with local and regional advertisers, making her instrumental in ensuring we can realize the market potential for a network like Zeus Prime.”

Friesen will oversee the strategy to bring new publishers and advertisers together via the Zeus Prime platform, turn advertisers into repeat buyers and work with the team to implement user feedback into the product roadmap. She will report to Zeus GM Julia Belanger and serve as a close collaborator with The Post’s Regional and Retail Client Solutions team.

Friesen has been with The Post for more than a decade. In that time, she’s served as a highly decorated member of the Client Solutions team based on her ability to consistently drive incremental revenue through strategic and data-driven client partnerships.
