Jan Swoope, lifestyles editor of The Commercial Dispatch in Columbus, Mississippi, passed away June 30 after a battle with cancer.
In this column, Peter Imes, editor and publisher of the newspaper, wrote: "Jan’s passing is a loss to this community. Through her writing, she celebrated everything from accomplished artists to cheese straws; she did it with excellence and sincerity."
