Marisa Fariña, a strategic and creative media executive with deep experience in events, will be joining The Times as vice president, events partnerships and operations.

Marisa’s hire comes at an exciting moment for Times events. In 2025, we aim to make our events even bigger, better and more impactful. We see a real opportunity to continue producing news-making events that both meet our exacting journalistic standards and are sought-after by our valued brand partners. With Marisa in this role, we are confident we have the right leadership in place to help us deliver on our ambitions for live journalism and drive our events strategy forward.

Marisa will own the go-to-market strategy for all NYT Events. She will be responsible for sourcing market feedback from our brand partners, securing sponsorships and leading all operational aspects of NYT Events. She will dual report to me and David – to me for partnerships and sales and to David for operations.

Marisa comes to us from The Washington Post, where she has served as managing director of Washington Post Live since 2020. There, she led significant business expansion and revenue growth for the WP Live business. While at The Post, Marisa oversaw the launch of several summits including the Global Women’s Summit, This is Climate and The Futurist. Before joining The Post she served as chief revenue officer and vice president of strategic partnerships at Tina Brown Live Media and was a co-organizer at TEDxEast. Marisa serves on the Board of Trustees for Connecticut College, a role in which she is very proud to help usher in the next generation of academics.

Please join us in welcoming Marisa to The Times!
