The Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY is pleased to announce leadership changes to its foundation board of directors, marking a pivotal moment in the school’s mission to provide accessible, high-quality journalism education.
Vivek Shah has been elected as the new chair of the Newmark J-School Foundation board. As chief executive officer of Ziff Davis, a vertically focused digital media and internet company, Shah brings extensive experience in digital transformation and media leadership. His background includes senior management positions at Time, Inc., where he served as digital group president and president of the Fortune/Money Group.
Arthur Sulzberger Jr., a board member since 2018 and former chairman of The New York Times Company, served as our board chair with distinction and now continues as chair emeritus.
Four professionals joined the board: Robin Sparkman, Sarah Alvarez, Marjorie D. Parker and Richard Stengel, each bringing expertise that will strengthen the foundation’s mission.
