Wednesday night, the disturbing news broke that there was a horrific plane crash in Washington, D.C.

A little before 9 p.m. Eastern time, an American Airlines passenger plane that departed from Wichita, Kansas, collided with a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter near Reagan National Airport and then crashed into the frigid Potomac River.

Initial reports were that there were 60 passengers and four crew members on the airplane and three military members on the helicopter.
