Pairing college journalism students with news outlets may be key to solving the local news crisis, researchers suspect

In Nebraska, more than half of the reporters covering the state capitol are student journalists, thanks in part to the Nebraska News Service from the University of Nebraska’s journalism school.

In Oglethorpe, Georgia, the local newspaper is entirely produced by a University of Georgia journalism class.
