After more than 78 years of bringing the community the local news, the Penn-Franklin News (Murrysville, Pennsylvania) will stop publishing at the end of this month. June 30 will be the last edition of the Penn-Franklin News, and sister newspapers Delmont Salem News and Penn Trafford News.
“It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that I make this announcement,” stated Georgia Boring, managing editor and daughter of the newspaper’s founder. Georgia was six years old when her father, Charles K. Cooper, started the newspaper.
David Boring, new co-owner of the newspaper, made the announcement to the staff last week.
