Rupert Murdoch might be compelled to take the stand in Dominion Voting Systems’ $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against Fox News and parent company Fox Corp., a judge asserted Wednesday, not withstanding Fox’s protestation that it would cause the 92-year-old chairman a “hardship.”
Because Murdoch “holds a special role at Fox Corp.,” Judge Eric M. Davis said that he “may be able to be compelled to be here,” though he cautioned that he has not yet made a ruling. Although he expressed a preference for “live testimony,” he also suggested that Zoom could be used.
