Scripps News promotes award-winning sports correspondent Paul Crane

Scripps News, the national network owned by The E.W. Scripps Company, is adding a full-time on-air sports reporter to its lineup of correspondents. Paul Crane has been a regular sports contributor at Scripps News for the past two years and will begin his new full-time correspondent duties on Monday, Aug. 12. He will appear on programs across the network.

Crane, an Emmy Award-winning television sportscaster, has more than three decades of experience spent mostly as a sports anchor, reporter and play-by-play announcer, including three years of professional basketball in India. His past coverage includes several Super Bowls, college national championships, Final Fours, two Olympics and other major sporting events.

Crane spent nearly a decade as an anchor and reporter at CNN sports and CNN/SI. He’s also worked for regional sports networks including: Fox Sports Net, Comcast Sports Southeast and Cox Sports Television — where he hosted the New Orleans Saints TV show for nine seasons. Crane also served as a sports director for several local television stations, including KDFW in Dallas.

Crane will work closely with Scripps News sports reporters located in more than 50 cities across the country, who live and work in the communities they cover.
