Announcement from Graphics Director Chiqui Esteban and Senior Graphics Editor Tim Meko:

We are excited to announce that Simon Ducroquet is joining the graphics team as an assignment editor, where he will coordinate and edit visual stories off the news.

Ducroquet comes to The Post from the Brazilian newspaper O Globo, where he was a graphics reporter focused on multimedia storytelling. He previously worked at Folha de São Paulo as a data designer and was a graphics animator on the interactive team at Fusion, an ABC-Univision joint venture based in Miami. He is a graphics Swiss Army knife, and his work encompasses data visualization, motion graphics, virtual reality, data maps and almost anything that can be used to communicate the news.

Ducroque lives in São Paulo, and he will be moving to Washington, D.C., with his wife, who is a musician, his 1-year-old son and two cats. He enjoys aikido, indie game development, retro gaming and cycling. You can also find Ducroque researching cooking techniques — currently he’s focused on the best ways to create the perfect homemade pizza.

Simon’s first day at The Post will be Nov. 1. Please join us in welcoming him.
