The Butler Eagle launches SCS’s Community Advertising System to streamline ad operations and boost revenue potential

Eagle Media Corporation’s flagship daily, The Butler Eagle, has successfully gone live with the Community Advertising System (CAS) from Software Consulting Services, LLC (SCS). The system went live on June 1, marking a strategic leap forward in streamlining advertising operations and enhancing ad revenue across the company’s print and digital platforms.

The integration of CAS gives The Butler Eagle a unified solution for its advertising sales, production workflows and financial operations. In addition to the daily newspaper, the new platform now supports sister publications, The Cranberry Eagle and Butler County Business Matters, as well as Harmony Outdoor Ads and Eagle Printing Company.

“For years, we’ve been looking for a system that didn’t just check boxes, but actually made our workflows easier and more connected,” said Tammy Schuey, publisher of The Butler Eagle. “With SCS’s Community Advertising System, we’ve finally found a platform that brings our advertising, production and billing departments together in a way that just makes sense. The transition has been smooth, the training has been excellent, and we’re already seeing the benefits in both time savings and revenue opportunities.”

Designed specifically for community newspapers and regional publishers, CAS centralizes ad order entry, billing, production and layout tools in a single interface. This reduces redundancies, enhances communication across departments and accelerates the ad creation-to-publication pipeline. The solution also includes advanced ad-building tools, automated classified pagination and drag-and-drop layout features — helping local media outlets do more with leaner teams.

“CAS was designed to serve the unique needs of local and regional publishers like The Butler Eagle,” said Phil Curtolo, vice president of sales at SCS. “Their adoption shows how powerful CAS can be for media companies that need both agility and sophistication. We’re thrilled to be working with such a forward-thinking team.”

With its rollout now complete, Eagle Media joins a growing list of publishers choosing SCS to modernize their operations while preserving their local mission. The CAS implementation will also support Butler Eagle’s continued digital evolution, ensuring seamless ad experiences for clients across print and online platforms.
