I’m excited to announce that Hilary Moss has been promoted to deputy editor, visuals, for the Home team. In this role, Hilary will be responsible for programming visual experiences across our desktop and mobile home screens, overseeing our daily presentation and working with desks to convey our most ambitious journalism, adding explanation, narration and visual vibrancy.
Hilary joined the Home team in October 2022 as senior editor for home-screen programming and formats. Since then, she has worked with Home team editors and desks to identify packaging opportunities for daily coverage and compelling presentations for enterprise projects. She has worked closely with photo editors, designers and the Video team to produce a compelling visual presence on Home surfaces.
Hilary has also been an important leader in the development and production of card-based formats (bursts, photo carousels and reporter updates on the home screen), working with desks and product teams to help guide editorial vision and develop tools.
She will continue to work with designers and visual editors and with product and technology partners as we work toward new home-screen experiences and expand our storytelling toolbox.
Before joining the Home team, Hilary was a part of the Newsroom Product team, where she worked on bursts; she was also an editor for the At Home print section and for the coronavirus live blog (among other live vehicles), and a digital editor for T magazine for more than half a decade. She is a persistent advocate for reader experience and service, and a detail-oriented editor with a well-timed sense of humor. We are thrilled to have her on our leadership team.
Please join me in congratulating Hilary!
