Two Oklahoma newspapers close

Two newspapers, the Cleveland American and the Hominy News-Progress, published their final editions last Wednesday, and the nearby Pawnee Chief will be sold or closed, according to Publisher Rusty Ferguson.

Two newspapers, the Cleveland American and the Hominy News-Progress, published their final editions Wednesday, Nov. 27, and the nearby Pawnee Chief will be sold or closed, according to Publisher Rusty Ferguson.

“When you can't pay your bills and debt starts climbing, you've got to do something,” he said.

Ferguson was busy Nov. 25 writing the final edition of the American.
