Veteran journalist Brent Maze named publisher of The Greenwood Commonwealth

Emmerich Newspapers, Inc., has named Brent Maze as the publisher of The Greenwood (Mississippi) Commonwealth.

Maze comes to Greenwood as a 22-year veteran of the newspaper business. He most recently served as the publisher of The Selma Times-Journal in Selma, Alabama, from March 2024 to September 2025.

He said it is an honor to serve in Greenwood, following the legacies of Tim Kalich and John Oliver Emmerich.
