Yahoo names Washington Post exec to oversee its news organization

Former Washington Post managing editor Kat Downs Mulder has been named senior vice president and general manager of Yahoo News.

Downs Mulder will oversee global products, editorial and strategy for a unified Yahoo News organization, including the Yahoo homepage, news, entertainment and lifestyle content.

She will report to Matt Sanchez, who leads the company’s home ecosystem group.
