Newspaper leaders gather in Washington for strategy meetings and Capitol Hill advocacy

Newspaper executives are gathering in Washington this week for a coordinated series of meetings organized by America’s Newspapers and the News/Media Alliance. The Senior Leadership Conference opens Monday evening, September 28, with a joint reception and the Support Journalism Awards Dinner, according to the official program.

The wider September 27–30 gathering combines meetings for family owners, leadership sessions and a Tuesday Capitol Hill fly-in. The conference continues through Wednesday at the Washington Marriott Georgetown, with programming focused on the business of local news and opportunities for publishers to meet lawmakers.
