Splitting up Meredith? Company Asks to Preserve Shareholder Structure in Case of Change

Meredith Corp. executives are asking to change the company charter in case they split up their magazine publishing division and their TV stations into two businesses.

The Des Moines media company will ask investors at a Nov. 11 meeting to amend the charter, allowing the current shareholding structure to remain in place in case the company splits into two.
