10 Years With Universal for 'Tom the Dancing Bug'

By: E&P Staff "Tom the Dancing Bug" is marking 10 years with Universal Press Syndicate this month.

Ruben Bolling's award-winning weekly feature blends comic-strip humor with political and social commentary. One of its characters -- "Harvey Richards: Lawyer for Children" -- has been optioned for a film by New Line Cinema.

Bolling started "Tom" while a student at Harvard Law School, from which he graduated in 1987. He launched the comic professionally in a small New York City newspaper in 1990, and was self-syndicated until Universal signed him in June 1997.
