By: E&P Staff More than 20 newspapers in Downstate and Central Illinois have joined together to form a comprehensive online forum with job postings. The Web site, IllinoisCareers.com, will be updated daily to provide information on job opportunities and tools to aid recruiters.
"Backed by the reach of these newspapers, IllinoisCareers.com provides a locally driven site that will meet the needs of both advertisers and job seekers," said Joseph G. Shaker, president and CEO of Shaker Recruitment Advertising & Communications, in a statement. Shaker was influential in creating the Web site.
Participating newspapers include: The Benton Evening News; the Bureau County Republican in Princeton; The Carmi Times; The Clay County Daily Advocate-Press; The Daily American in West Frankfort; The Daily Journal in Kankakee; The Daily Ledger in Canton; The Daily Register in Harrisburg; the Daily Review Atlas in Monmouth; The Daily Times in Pekin; the Dispatch-Argus Leader in the Quad Cities; the Du Quoin Evening Call; the Eldorado Daily Journal; The Journal-Standard in Freeport; The Macomb Journal; The Marion Daily Republican; the Pontiac Daily Leader; the Olney Daily Mail; the Sauk Valley Newspapers in Dixon, Sterling, and Rock Falls; the Star Courier in Kewanee; and The State Journal-Register in Springfield.
