Now in its 26th year, the EPPYs are considered to be the news publishing industry’s most prestigious awards for digital journalism. The competition is open to all print, digital and broadcast media outlets. The entry deadline is now extended to September 10th, with judging beginning immediately afterwards, coordinated this year by the Local Media Consortium (LMC) with Chris Hendricks, LMC president, taking the lead role over the panel of 45 judges. "I am honored and humbled to be selected as the head judge for this year's Eppy Awards," stated Hendricks. "Contrary to conventional wisdom, journalists continue to produce compelling news stories and investigative reports that are read and valued by millions of people every day. The Eppy Awards serve to honor these journalists' hard work and dedication."
