By: Dexter Hill The Baltimore Examiner, The Washington (D.C.) Examiner an the San Francisco Examiner announced Wednesday early editorial endorsements for the McCain-Palin ticket. They joined the New York Post in that, with the Seattle Times endorsing Obama.
National security and leadership potential were the main factors in the decision. The papers cite leadership, public service, and toughness among Senator Mccain?s strengths. The next president must have ?the hard-earned experience? and quality of character to win the war abroad, according to the endorsement.
Gov. Palin only adds to the toughness of her ?maverick? running-mate, according to the papers. Palin ?has the instincts, temperament and backbone? necessary to restore Republican Party ideals to national politics.? She is deemed ready and willing to dispose of ?government waste.?
Amid the praise, though, is a warning to the Republican ticket, urging McCain to mind his ?legendary temper? in order to work effectively with his cabinet and Congress. Similarly, Palin is advised to be a quick learner in managing national and international affairs.
