By: E&P Staff Boodle, a service that provides online coupons for major consumer packaged-goods retailers through a network of 250 newspapers, is running a major promotion through December, called Dollar Days.
Including coupons from such well-known companies as as General Mills, SC Johnson, and Kimberly-Clark, Boodle and its 250 newspaper web sites nationwide will offer coupons worth up to $1 off or more. Newspaper sites will advertise this promotion via banner ads, tiles, skyscrapers, and other marketing devices on the sites.
?Newspapers can leverage the promotion to drive awareness of their online coupon program,? says Jeff Beliveau, vice president of newspaper relations at Consumer Networks, the network of newspaper-development groups that created Boodle.
Consumer Networks is working with the participating newspaper partners to develop Dollar Days promotional materials including a Dollar Days email and online banners, tiles and skyscrapers (pictured above).
Newspapers currently working with Consumer Networks to feature online coupon content include papers from the Gannett Co., Tribune Co., The Copley Press, Freedom Communications, and Knight Ridder.
