By: E&P Staff The Association of American Editorial Cartoonists (AAEC) will hold an exhibit starting this Saturday at the American University Museum at the Katzen Arts Center in Washington, D.C.
"Bush Leaguers: Cartoonists Take on the White House" -- opening just prior to the AAEC's 50th-anniversary convention in Washington -- features the work of more than 80 cartoonists. Their drawings focus on George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Donald Rumsfeld, Condoleezza Rice, Alberto Gonzales, and others.
The exhibit, which is offering a media preview and tour this Friday, runs until July 29.
The AAEC convention runs from July 4-7. There's also a July 3 "Cartoonapalooza" event, open to the public, that will feature remarks by a panel of 10 cartoonists.
Advance stories on that event and the convention have previously run on this site, and E&P's July magazine includes an article about the 50-year history of the
AAEC.
