'Abby' Discusses Alzheimer's with Copley Writer

By: E&P Staff "Dear Abby" columnist Jeanne Phillips discussed Alzheimer's disease -- and her mother's struggle with it -- in an interview with "Inside People" columnist Marsha Seff.

Jeanne's mother is Pauline Phillips, 87, who started "Dear Abby" in 1956 under the pen name of Abigail Van Buren.

The younger Phillips told Seff that her mother is being cared for at home in Minnesota -- where the elder Phillips moved from California two years ago with her husband.

"Inside People" is syndicated by Copley News Service, while "Dear Abby" is distributed by Universal Press Syndicate to about 1,400 newspapers.
