By: E&P Staff The About Group, a part of The New York Times Company, announced Wednesday that it has named Mitchell Kreuch as senior vice president, sales. Kreuch will oversee all online sales efforts including strategy, programming and after-sale account support. He will also be responsible for achieving targeted advertising sales revenues, About said.
Kreuch was most recently vice president of sales for the Eastern and Midwest regions at MySpace Inc., where he oversaw sales teams in New York and Chicago.
In his new role, Kreuch will report directly to Cella Irvine, president and C.E.O., the About Group.
"Mitchell brings significant digital sales experience that will contribute to our continued success," said Irvine. "Last quarter the About Group's advertising revenues rose 30 percent due to strong growth in both cost-per-click and display advertising and we look forward to building on this significant achievement."
Before MySpace, Kreuch was regional vice president, sales, at Yahoo Inc. where he was responsible for sales in the entertainment, travel, telecom, consumer electronics, retail and political categories across search, display and Yahoo?s Performance Advertising Network.
The About Group comprises the Web sites About.com, ConsumerSearch.com, UCompareHealthCare.com and CalorieCount.com.
