AccuWeather and AT&T Partner on Interactive Weather Feature

Posted
By: E&P Staff AccuWeather.com today announced the initial launch of "Weather On Demand," an interactive feature that allows AT&T U-verse TV customers "to find the weather information they want, in the city they want, at the time they want."

U-verse TV customers in Atlanta, Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, Indianapolis, and San Diego can now use the feature at no extra charge. AT&T plans to make "Weather On Demand" available to all U-verse TV customers next year.

Customers can access weather information for their home city and any other U.S. city they specify on their "My Cities" list by tuning to Channel 227. They can then view current local conditions -- including high/low temperatures, humidity, wind, visibility, and barometric pressure.

They can also get local and nationwide forecasts (including hourly and six-day outlooks); access animated local and national radar imagery and satellite views; and watch current videos of meteorologists presenting local weather updates.

Cities can be searched and selected by name, ZIP code, or by looking at a U.S. map.

AccuWeather's numerous clients include newspapers.
