Adweek IQ) The Washington Post Co. reported late last week that fourth-quarter revenue from its online publishing activities, primarily washingtonpost.com, grew 34% to $14.2 million from $10.6 million in the year-earlier period.
For full-year 2004, revenue from its online businesses rose 30% to $46.9 million from $35.9 million the year before.
The year-over-year increase was fueled by local and national online ad revenue, which grew 54% in Q4 and 59% for the year. Revenue from the jobs section of washingtonpost.com increased 44% in the fourth quarter and 29% for 2003.
The results were released as a part of the Post Co.'s Q4 and year-end earnings report.
